The cheese vat is a large, non reactive, cheese vat which is both microwave and dishwasher proof. This is also sterilised very easily, simplifying cheese making. The outer insulating Incubator is needed to maintain milk temperature while the cheese is being made. Because the cheese making process proceeds over many hours, it becomes very important to have a way to keep your milk/cheese curds at the correct temperature during this time. The Cheesemaker is recommended for the Artisan Cheese Kit, Fresh Cheese Kit, Specialty Cheese Kit and Probiotic Greek Yoghurt Kit. This is not needed for the Italian Cheese Kit.
All the specialised ingredients and equipment come in the cheese kits. The only additional equipment you may need is general household equipment such as; a large pot, a colandar, draining spoon, long bladed knife, whisk, bowls and general measuring equipment.
